Our latest album Quiet is now available for your listening and viewing pleasure. Released on September 22nd, this marks our last major release for our band until our next installation, The Monster Arising. (Release date: to be determined.)

This revisit experience was a blast to work on, and it really worked out better than we had expected. Our idea was to create an unplugged, or acoustic, version of Before The Spoken Word, with some additional new material thrown in for good measure. The result is a dynamically contrasting sound and presentation for those ever soft, comfortable, savory candle lit nights at home.

It’s really incredible how different a song feels and is absorbed when you make some slight artistic modifications. For instance, “Activation” inquired a chant-like ritualistic quality, and “Instincts” reveals its truly somber expression of fragility and sacrifice. Through the simple fusion of keys and vocals, a new constellation is born.

Don’t forget to take a listen to the new kids on the block, “Chiaroscuro” and “The Philosopher’s Gaze.” These instrumental tracks have been inside our minds and hearts since the beginning of our mission, and we feel now is the right time to give them a chance to shine.

We are delighted to bring you a new video entry for Gravity Mission entitled “The Cosmic Haircut.” Made in Denton, Texas this summer, this short film is sure to crack a few smiles out there.

Scott took this video without Ruben paying much attention to it. But this was no accident – Scott thought it would be cool to do a timelapse of a haircut. The result is what you are watching right now… with some humorous elements thrown in for good measure.

The timing was scheduled to be in alignment with the first day of fall, our favorite season of transformation and beautiful subtleties. Featuring simplified piano and vocal versions of six tracks from Before The Spoken Word, along with two entirely new bonus tracks “Chairoscuro” and “The Philosopher’s Gaze”, this revisit album is a fresh and charmingly romantic/intimate version of its predecessor.

With this second installation, Werley’s voice has become a more consistent backdrop for Erazo’s haunting and inspiring vocals. Erazo has worked effortlessly to transpose the ethereal experience of Before The Spoken Word into a drifting, classical dreamscape of the most fantastical variety. It is our hope that you enjoy this experience of traveling back into the words of yesterday, while looking forward to the beauty of tomorrow.

Quiet was recorded between the dates of May 27th and July 1st, 2012. It was recorded, edited, mixed and mastered at Subito Sound Studio in Denton, Texas.
